Training Philosophy & Services
Philosophy
Dogs can be motivated to behave in the way we want in order to get what they want – our attention, praise and acceptance - simply through our relationship with them. Canine behavior and dog psychology must be central factors in determining how best to establish a relationship with and train a particular dog.

CompliantK9 utilizes relationship-based and positive reinforcement training techniques used by behavior specialists and widely recognized dog experts like Dr. Ian Dunbar, Karen Pryor, Suzanne Clothier, and yes – even Cesar Millan! – combined with canine behavior and dog psychology to determine the training tools and methods that will best serve the needs of your dog and your lifestyle.

Training sessions are like productive play sessions for you and your dog, and are the foundation for a life-long bond of trust and cooperation. You and your dog will learn how to bring out the best in each other, with you confidently leading the way.

Services

As of August 2009, CompliantK9's private lessons and group classes will be held at The Local Bark, Sacramento-area's premiere playcare, boarding and training facility located in Rancho Cordova. Visit www.LocalBark.com or call 916.638.3880 for location and information about this full-service dog resort.

Leadership & Obedience Consultation – Private Session
Leadership is the foundation for your relationship with your dog. As a pack animal, your dog's happiness and sense of well-being depends on your ability as a "pack leader." In this private hands-on session with you and your dog, you will learn how to speak the language of leadership in a way your dog understands. You will also learn how to teach your dog obedience commands such as sit, sit/stay, down, down/stay, come, heel, and go to your bed; all essential skills for a well-mannered and secure canine companion. We will address any nuisance behaviors you might be having with your dog – unruly house behavior, bad leash manners, bad greeting manners, inappropriate chewing or barking – and how to fix them. You will learn a lot in this session!

Session Fee: $200

Puppy Skills & Socialization Group Class

This class teaches the foundations of Dog Leadership for owners, and emphasizes prevention of common behavior problems and teaching good manners in the early temperament stages. Puppies will learn to socialize, and owners will learn positive-reinforcement methods to help puppy become a compliant, well-mannered adult dog.

Visit www.LocalBark.com for class schedules, fees, and registration information.

Boarding School Training Programs
